Our Philosophy

Currumbin Village Early Learning is committed to ensuring that our actions today have positive long-term impacts on our children, their families and their community. Through continued education of our staff and seeking out improved scientific knowledge, we inspire our children, families and community to strive for a sustainable, kinder and peaceful future.

The emphasis on family and community at our centre is based on the recognition that a child’s developmental needs require a holistic approach. As such supporting families and communities is a vital component. This philosophy is reflected in the name of the centre.

Currumbin Village.

“It takes a village to raise a child.”

A strong sense of family and community is demonstrated via our family events, our community board, community library, community clothes rack and community pantry. The barrier around the outside play area is purposely constructed with viewing gaps so that children can observe beyond the play area. Community connections and observations inspire children’s imagination and curiosity.

The Currumbin Village logo captures the essence of our philosophy. Our logo illustrates two children standing on an open book reaching for the stars. Growing out of the love heart are solid branches with green vibrant leaves. Based on the foundations of knowledge, love and kindness we nurture and inspire children to reach their potential. The branches and leaves represent the vast and varied potentials offered to each child.

Our philosophy is reflected in our curriculum, and particularly our Green Earth Kids projects. These projects encourage children to view their environment holistically, with an appreciation that we are all connected. Seeking knowledge, being kind and considerate improves wellbeing for ourselves and our community.
